Hi! Welcome to my page. My name is Hanaan Haque and I’m currently a student at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). I’m also a proud Muslim Desi-American woman, a theme you’ll see reflected in some of my personal work.

I first started taking photographs on my parents’ phones when I was in middle school, but it wasn’t until high school that I really developed a passion for it. I received my first camera as a gift in my sophomore year of high school, not having a clue as to how it worked. I experimented a lot, watched tutorials, and learned more from different courses I had taken in the following years. Over time, I figured out my areas of expertise, but I still love to try new things. My photography started as a hobby, but as of recently, I decided to go a step further and turn it into a side business.

This website was originally made with the hope of getting my name out there to get hired for taking photos for portraits, events, and more, but I also wanted a place where I could display my personal work. I’m not yet sure if I want to become a full-time photographer in the future, but I have always hoped that my photos and writing would have an impact on people.

I think my site is unique in a lot of ways because along with showcasing my personal projects, I also include writing of my thoughts, my process, and my reflections. I hope that my writing not only provides context for my work, but further depth as well. Now that you’ve gotten to know me a little bit better, I hope you enjoy taking a look at my work and decide to book me :)
